This Fifth Grader’s Letter To His Girlfriend In Hospital Is The Sweetest Thing You’ll Read Today

Here’s a story that will make you believe in true love.

These two kids from Montgomery, Texas, have been dating for about a year now — and they’re only 10 years old.

Yes, 10. The number after 9. T-E-N.

Cole and Sherri are in fifth grade. Their romance started in fourth grade when Cole asked Sherri to homecoming.

Sherri’s mom, Nicole Rodriguez, shared that she was a bit uncertain when she first found out that the two liked each other, until Cole did the sweetest thing.

Cole plays competitive baseball while Sherri plays competitive soccer. They always go to each other’s games.

While playing soccer last week, Sherri tore her ACL and was rushed to the hospital to get surgery.

Cole and his mother, Brandi Lanclos, were at the game when Sherri got injured.

“He came home that night and said, ‘I want to write her a letter and get her something to make her feel better,’” Brandi shared.

Brandi said that when she read Cole’s note, she was on the verge of tears because she didn’t know that her son could write a letter like that. At least, not at his age.

“My dad tells me that God only allows things to happen that He knows we can handle. You are a pretty, nice, funny, and strong girl that is also a good friend. You will get through this quickly.”

“I thought it was really sweet, and it made me proud to know he can express feeling that way about her.”

As soon as Sherri was out of the hospital, Cole surprised her with the letter, along with a cookie cake and a teddy bear.

Sherri’s cousin, Gabriella, posted the whole thing on Twitter and people everywhere found their new #RelationshipGoals.

This love story is definitely one for the books. Gabriella, if you’re reading this, please give us an update on these lovebirds in 5 years.
